Masking the Trends

After a busy morning of looking around Olympia Beauty
2017 with the Arthur Edward bunch, we took ourselves off for a browse around
Selfridges beauty and cosmetics hall to review brands, see what was new in
store and check out the latest styles and trends.

One thing I noticed was that face masks are a huge craze
at the moment!

Some of the latest ranges were from the Korean Beauty
market and it’s safe to say that Korean skin care has taken the industry by
complete storm over the last few years.

There was everything from a knit mask from Neogen to quirky animal themed masks
from Skin 79. OoZoo had a wide variety of in-shot face masks and there were Dr Jart+ rubber masks for hydration,
firming, brightening and their Dermask packs.

Tony Moly had
their ‘I’m Real’ Aloe and Avocado
masks as well as rice mask sheets and eye patches and their snail hydro gel,
showing how popular the essence extracted from snail mucin (which claims to
accelerate cell turnover and encourage collagen synthesis) has become.

Nannette de Gaspé
had a large display of masks each specialising in different body areas such as
eyes, mouth, neck and face as well as hands, bust and tush!

Magicstripes, Nugg
and Starskin all boasted a variety
of masks to suit all skin types and Rodial
displayed their Snake Oxygenating & Cleansing Bubble Masks.

Oh K! fibre
face mask and cooling eye pads were on the Selfridges best sellers stand which
I think further demonstrated how popular this area in skin care and beauty
currently is.

Without a doubt, face masks continue to be a big trend
and with such a broad and unique array to choose from at a variety of prices to
suit all budgets, I’m certainly going to have fun trying them out!
