The Buzz on Burts Bees

On the 11th of Feb the girls and I were lucky enough to go and visit the Burts Bees pop up shop in right around the corner form our office in Covent Garden!

Celebrating their new launch of makeup products, the American brand Burts Bees set up a stunning pop up shop to showcase all their shiny new products.

We happened to be some of the first customers to come in and received complementary gift bags full of products to try!

Here are our thoughts on what we tried….

All Glow Bronzer Stick – Emma

When looking around the store, the first thing that caught my eye (apart from the stunning display) was the ‘All Glow Bronzer Stick’, I had been looking for a cream or stick bronzer since last summer as I felt powder bronzer can sometimes look too heavy or a bit patchy.

So, this Bronzer stick looked incredible, with ingredients such as jojoba oil and coconut oil, with a bit of shimmer it seemed perfect for that summer glow. Sinking into the skin giving a moisturising feeling, the product feels almost like a balm but not waxy or sticky and gives a very natural finish, the shimmer melts down giving the skin a glossy highlighted look so perfect for that ‘glass skin’ illuminated beach vibe.

At first the shimmer worried me, I wasn’t sure if it would look chunky on the skin however once applied the shimmer is undetectable and just adds a highlighted effect. This stick is part of Burts Bees new makeup line and at only £12 I couldn’t resist buying it!

Tinted Lip balm – Georgina

Georgina was really impressed with the Burts Bees tinted lip balms, after trying a few of the other lip products she felt the balms add just a right amount of tint to your lips and keeps them moisturised and soft throughout the day; perfect for “no-makeup” makeup looks.

Georgina was also treated to a makeover while in the pop-up and was able to try the new Goodness Glow liquid foundation and the All AGlow Cheek sticks, leaving her skin looking fresh dewy and moisturised.

Sensitive Skin Day Cream – Mel

Mel tried the new Sensitive Sin Day Cream, she felt unsure about the watery consistency at first as she usually prefers rich thick moisturisers, however there is no scent so the cream is good for sensitive skin; Mel was surprised by how good her skin felt throughout the day, she has quite irritable skin and this didn’t irritate her at all, her skin didn’t feel dry or itchy throughout the day so the product does moisturise well.
