Influenced by Influencers…The Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base

Late to join the band waggon, I’ve just tried the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base. I was persuaded to buy the cream because of various influencers raving and posting about the product. The craze over this product came from the influencer Jeffree Star using it as a primer in almost all of his YouTube videos.

One of the main selling points of this product is the fact that it’s a double duty product, it can act as a moisturiser or a primer. The product contains Shea Butter and Vitamins B, C & E leaving the skin feeling moisturised, nourished and extremely radiant. However, I still found myself reaching for my other moisturisers or oils to add after, but I guess this is due to the fact that I have very dry skin.

Because this product can be used as a primer or moisturiser it’s great for both dry and oily skin. For a person with dry skin, this product would be best used after a very hydrating moisturiser and using the Face Base as a primer. Silicone primers can tend to be quite drying on the skin, so this is where the Face Base comes out shining! A hydrating primer, perfect for dry skin. On the flip side, this product can also work great for people with skin on the oilier side. As this product is light yet nourishing, it would work brilliantly for a day cream before using a mattifying primer over the top. Your skin would still get the moisture you need, but without leaving the skin feeling like an oil slick. This product really gives you the best of both worlds!

As if that wasn’t good enough, this cream is perfect for summer time! The scent of Grapefruit and Geranium will leave you wishing you were away on a tropical island, sunbathing, drinking a cocktail by the pool. Even the light-yellow colour will remind you of summer, a lemon meringue sorbet… the cream, rich enough to give you the moisture you need but doesn’t leave your skin feeling over oily or tacky so when it’s baking outside, you won’t feel like you’re melting!

The face base may be slightly on the expensive side (£43), but really, you’re paying for two products in one… and trust me, it’s worth it just for the scent!
