How to: Achieve Beach Waves
Step 1: Use a Texture Shampoo – It is advised to wash your hair with a shampoo that is designed to volumise and texture locks while gently cleansing the hair. The Redken Beach Envy Volume Texturizing Shampoo is said to create amplified, loose, beachy waves with amazing body.
Step 2: Spritz Sea Salt Spray – The next step is to spritz a sea salt spray into damp hair and dry through. Toni&Guy’s international Artistic Director, Chie Sato, recommends the Lable.M sea salt spray. Which is designed to create wearably tousled styles with an edgy matte finish.
Step 3: Section The Hair – You should now take a section of hair and spray a firm hold hairspray from root to tip. The GHD Style Curl Hold Spray is a light and non-sticky spray, which works along a styler, tong or heated rollers while protecting against heat damage.
Step 4: Use a Wand – Then Adam Reed, GHD’s global Brand Ambassador, suggests wrapping small sections of hair around a hair tong and changing the direction of the hair each time so the waves differ in direction. The GHD Curve Creative Curl Wand is a popular choice and helps create loose or dishevelled waves.
Step 5: Mist a Hairspray – Once all the hair has been tonged, Reed suggests taking each section of hair and shaking it to open up the wave. Finally, gently mist the hair with a hairspray to hold and add texture. Percy & Reed Reassuring Firm Session Hold Hairspray is an ultra fine, humidity resistant mist that is designed to give a strong hold while being invisible to the eye.
