A global leader in colour cosmetic and personal care product development and manufacturing is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join their cosmetic powders lab. The Research & Innovation Technical Lead will drive the company’s product pipeline and competitive positioning through cutting-edge research.

Core Responsibilities:

• Directing research and adoption of technologies to cement leadership in powder cosmetics, ranging from ingredients to processing methods
• Pinpointing and planning new innovation opportunities by leveraging consumer insights and market trends
• Pioneering formulas through re-engineering benchmarks, reformulations, chassis development, supplier collaborations
• Heading disciplined experimentation via DOE to create differentiated powder products
• Overseeing concurrent innovation projects from formula design through commercialisation
• Building institutional knowledge by mentoring scientists and chemists on development best practices
• Providing ongoing manufacturing support through scale-up guidelines and issue resolution
• Ensuring formula compliance, safety, and alignment with quality standards

Additional responsibilities include maintaining current industry awareness, actively contributing to meetings/calls, documenting formulas to specifications, reviewing test data, and assisting with various R&I lab tasks.
  
Skills & Experience:

• BSc or MSc in Science, preferably Chemistry
• Extensive experience in cosmetic formulation, including powder R&D
• Leadership ability and solutions-focused mindset
• Excellent communication, organisation, and coaching skills
